Reconnecting Lessons from an Ayahuasca Experience by the Fire

In the stillness of the night, surrounded by the ancient embrace of the mountains, I found myself sitting by a fire, the flames dancing with a life of their own. The fire’s warmth reached deep into my soul, inviting me into a state of reflection and connection. This was not just any night; it was a night of deep introspection and healing, guided by the sacred medicine of yage, known to many as ayahuasca.

The Sacred Fire: A Gateway to Connection

As I sat there, I felt an undeniable connection with the fire—a primordial force that has guided humanity for eons. The fire was more than just a source of warmth and light; it was a conduit to something greater, a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual realm. In that moment, I understood that this connection with fire is a vital link to Mother Earth, a reminder of the deep relationship our ancestors once had with nature.

Our ancestors revered the elements, understanding that each played a role in the delicate balance of life. The fire was sacred, symbolizing not just the sun’s warmth and protection but also the transformative power that burns away the old to make way for the new. It was by this fire that I began to see how far we have drifted from this understanding, how modern society has lost its way by focusing too much on external forces, forgetting the sacred balance that once governed our existence.

The Forgotten Balance: Masculine and Feminine Energies

In the flickering light of the fire, a profound realization dawned on me. We have spent too long worshiping a masculine "god," an external figure of authority and power, while neglecting the true divinity that lies within us. We have forgotten that the sun, our Father, is not a distant deity but a source of life and light, warmth and safety. Yet, in our reverence for the sun, we have overlooked the equally vital role of our Mother, the Earth.

Mother Earth bears us, nourishes us, and provides refuge. Just as the sun gives us light and warmth, the Earth creates life and flourishes when she is loved and respected. Like the dance between man and woman, the energies of the masculine and feminine must be in balance for harmony to exist. But in our modern world, this balance has been disrupted. We take from the Earth like gluttons, giving little back, destabilizing the very principles that bring prosperity.

As I sat by the fire, I connected deeply with Mother Earth, realizing how little we show her love and gratitude. The dis-ease that plagues modern humanity is not just physical but spiritual—a result of our disconnection from the Earth, from the principles of balance and harmony that our ancestors held sacred.

The Process of Reconnection: Emptying the Glass

The yage medicine began to guide me further, revealing layers of understanding that had long been buried beneath the surface of my consciousness. I realized that we, as humans, are like empty glasses when we are born—pure, open, and connected to the flow of consciousness that our ancestors once knew so well. But as we age, this glass becomes filled with the impurities of modern life: negative emotions, ego, anger, envy, and fear.

These layers of contamination cloud our true essence, severing the connection we once had with nature and the universe. But yage, like a divine teacher, helps to slowly remove these layers, emptying the glass so that we can become pure again. Only when our hearts are free of these negative emotions can we truly reconnect with the ancient wisdom that lies dormant within us.

This process of purification is not easy. It requires us to confront the darkness within, to let go of the lies, anger, hatred, and envy that have taken root in our hearts. But it is a necessary journey if we are to reclaim the flow of consciousness that our ancestors once enjoyed—a state of being where everything is interconnected, and life flows with ease and harmony.

The Consequences of Forgetting: A World Out of Balance

As I continued to sit by the fire, the medicine showed me the consequences of forgetting our connection to Mother Earth. When we fail to respect and love her, she withdraws her support. Life begins to wither, and the lands that were once fertile and abundant become barren deserts, devoid of life. The scorching heat of the sun becomes unbearable, a reminder of what happens when the feminine energy of the Earth is not balanced with the masculine energy of the sun.

But when we remember—when we appreciate, love, and respect the Earth—she gives us the true riches of life. She provides us with the consciousness that allows us to elevate our existence, to live in harmony with all living beings, and to experience the fullness of life in all its beauty.

The Path Forward: A Return to Balance

The lessons from this ayahuasca experience are clear. We must reconnect with who we once were, with the deep connection our ancestors had with nature and the universe. This process of reconnection requires us to empty the glass, to purify ourselves of the negative influences that have clouded our consciousness.

We must restore the balance between the masculine and feminine energies, recognizing that both are essential for life to flourish. By showing love and gratitude to Mother Earth, by living in harmony with the natural world, we can heal the dis-ease that has taken hold of humanity. We can return to a state of balance where everything flows, where we are more loving, more understanding, and more connected to the world around us.

Conclusion: Embracing the Wisdom of the Ancestors

As I emerged from the experience, I felt a deep sense of peace and clarity. The fire had burned away the lies, revealing the truth that had been hidden for so long. We are not separate from the Earth or the universe; we are an integral part of it. The wisdom of our ancestors is not lost—it is within us, waiting to be remembered.

The journey of reconnection is one that each of us must undertake, guided by the lessons of the past and the wisdom of the Earth. As we empty the glass, as we purify ourselves and restore balance, we will find that the true riches of life are not material but spiritual. They are found in the love we share, the harmony we create, and the deep connection we nurture with all living things.

May we all find our way back to this path, honoring the sacred balance of life, and embracing the wisdom that lies within us all.
