Traditional Naturopath
Joanna's journey into holistic health began with a deep focus on gut health, starting her career as a colon hydrotherapist. Her early mastery in this field led her to understand the necessity of a more comprehensive approach to chronic lifestyle diseases, prompting her to further her education in naturopathy and herbology. This pursuit of knowledge culminated in her founding The Root Chakra, a private naturopathic practice in San Jose, California, where she offers a variety of holistic services.

At The Root Chakra (The Root Chakra), Joanna is the mastermind behind an array of holistic treatments. Her commitment to continuous learning keeps her at the forefront of holistic health. Since starting in the industry in 2006, she has consistently expanded her expertise, holding a Bachelor's degree in Health Science with an emphasis on Community Health Promotion from San Jose State University. Her personal life is graced by the presence of her beloved cat, Morty, a retired award-winning show cat.

In addition to managing her practice, Joanna is heavily involved in the ongoing development of our retreat center. This project, which began with a piece of land she acquired across from her brother Tiberius, reflects her belief in the transformative power of traditional medicine. The retreat center is an extension of her holistic vision, offering a sanctuary for healing and rejuvenation.
Tiberius
Management and Logistics
Tiberius, with his mechanical engineering background, has been the guiding force in crafting the vision and overseeing the construction of the retreat center. His journey into the world of plant medicine began after witnessing its transformative effects, both in others and personally.
Since moving to Colombia in 2011, he has become a strong proponent of its healing benefits, advocating for its use with a genuine passion. His responsibilities extend beyond just the physical construction of the farm; Tiberius is deeply involved in the day-to-day logistics and management of the property. Living in the neighborhood, he is a familiar and friendly face to locals, always ensuring that both his team and visitors are well cared for.
Balancing his professional life with personal commitments, Tiberius is also a devoted father to his six-year-old son, Marco. This personal aspect of his life brings a sense of humility and groundedness to his work. He believes in creating a space where healing and transformation can occur, driven not just by his expertise but also by his personal experiences and the joy he finds in seeing positive change in people's lives.
